KVK SAMRALA PARTICIPATED IN KISAN KALYAN KARYASHALAS ORGANIZED ON 2/5/2018

Kisan Kalyan Karyashalas were organized on 2/5/2018 in various blocks of Ludhiana District under the ATMA Scheme. The motive of the camps were to make the farmers aware of the various Govt. schemes and reforms with the vision to double the farmer's income by the year 2022. Under this program, Associate Director (Trg) KVK Samrala and Dr. Harshneet Singh Extn. Spl. (Soil Science) participated in the camp at village Sarabha, block Pakhowal. Dr. Sharma ADT (Trg). KVK Samrala urged the farmers to maintain strong linkages with Krishi Vigyan Kendra, to adopt improved agricultural technologies, subsidiary occupations, soil testing for judicious use of fertilizers, kitchen gardening etc. He motivated the farmers to stop stubble burning and adopt techniques for resource conservation. Dr. Harshneet Singh discussed about the cultural practices for cultivation of Kharif crops and advised farmers to use natural resources judiciously. An exhibition depicting improved agricultural technologies was put up by KVK. Dr. Sharma ADT (Trg) KVK Samrala also participated at camp at village Lalton Kalan. Dr. Devinder Tiwari Extn. Spl. (Extension Education) participated at the camp at village Mutton, Block Samrala. He apprised the farmers about the KVK activities, made them aware about the seed available at the KVK seed shop and urged farmers to market their own produce by joining Farmer- Producer Organisation. Mrs. Avneet Kaur Extn. Spl. (Horticulture) participated in the camp at village Chakli Adal where she motivated the farmers to decrease the expenses by adopting a simple way of living and to adopt subsidiary occupation such as protected cultivation, mushroom cultivation, seed production, bee keeping etc to increase their income. She urged the farmwomen present in the camp to form Self Help Groups and adopt various income generating household activities. These programs were graced by Sh. Amrik Singh Dhillon , MLA at different places and Sh. Kuldeep Singh Vaid MLA as well as Ms. Sheena Aggarwal ADC (Dev.) Ludhiana who motivated the farmers to adopt improved agricultural technologies, establish linkages with different departments and form FPO's for better marketing and higher profit. During this event the contribution of progressive farmer who managed paddy straw for many years was appreciated by Award of Honour.
