KVK SAMRALA ALONG WITH DD KISAN ORGANIZED A TRAVEL SEMINAR ON CROP RESIDUE MANAGEMENT IN LUDHIANA UNDER THE GUIDANCE OF ATARI, ICAR ON 12-04-2018 |
Krishi Vigyan Kendra along with DD Kisan team under the guidance of ATARI, ICAR Zone-1 organized a travel seminar on crop residue management in Ghulal, Powat & Diwala villages of Ludhiana district. Dr. Rajbir Singh, Director ATARI, Zone-1 (ICAR) graced the occasion as chief guest of the programme. Dr. S C Sharma, Associate Director (Trg.) along with experts from KVK, Ludhiana welcomed the chief guest, DD Kisan team and as well as the participating farmers. The seminar started at KVk, Samrala . Technology park where paddy straw management technologies were shown to the farmers in form of in-situ straw management demonstrations. An interactive session was organized where experts and farmers shared their experiences on crop residue management. DD Kisan team recorded this interactive session as well as live field demonstrations. From the KVK, team proceeded to the village Ghulal to see the demonstrations on happy seeder as adoption of technologies by Swaranjeet Singh. The farmer shared his experiences with experts and other farmers of the village. From village Ghulal, team proceeded to the village Powat where the demonstrations on happy seeder were shown with experts-farmers interaction. Later on, Kisan Prashan Manch was organized at village Powat on crop residue management and Kharif crops. Dr. S C Sharma, ADT, Chamkor Singh, Asstt. Inspector (Agriculture), Er. Karun Sharma, A.P. (Agri. Eng.), Dr. Harshneet Singh, A.P. (Soil Sci.) participated as experts in the programme. At the end of the programme, Dr. Shivani Rana along with the team urged the farmers to take a pledge "No burning of crop residue" and also to motivate others for this noble cause. After concluding the programme, Team further moved to the Diwala, a residue burn free village, for seeing the in-situ demonstrations conducted by farmers of the village. Dr. Rajbir Singh congratulated KVK team & their efforts and the farmers for their efforts in making village Diwala, a residue burn free. At the end of the travel seminar, Dr. S C Sharma proposed a vote of thanks to Dr. Rajbir singh, DD Kisan team and Farmers for their active participation. |
