Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Samrala under the aegis of PAU Ludhiana is organizing various extension activities for creating awareness among the students and farming community to curb the practice of crop residue burning. In this context, Krishi Vigyan Kendra under the guidance of Dr. S.C. Sharma (Associate Director) organized a mobilization programme for students of Mata Ganga Khalsa College , Kottan, Ludhiana on 14.11.2019. Around 600 students including faculty, staff and farmers participated in this programme.

Dr. S.C. Sharma welcomed all participants and motivated to establish linkages and get KVK services for knowledge up gradation of agricultural technologies. He also gave a call to the students for effective utilization of natural resources and efficient management of crop residue for sustainable agriculture and safeguarding the environment. He also highlighted harmful effects of burning of crop residue and informed that KVK will organize demonstrations for the effective management of paddy residues at farmers
